Our Colorado + Utah Adventure

When two of your best friends say their coming out to Colorado in the middle of January, you’ve got to plan an adventure.. even if there’s a baby involved.  This trip was a special one.  Meet Lindsey, Rica, and little EJ.  I grew up across the street from these ladies.  They share some of my most embarrassing, exciting, and favorite memories.. and trust us when we say there are a lifetime’s worth of embarrassing ones.

We started the trip with some hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, and then packed up the car and traveled to Moab, Utah… an all time favorite place of mine.  The road conditions were atrocious, and since we were traveling with a little one, we only drove after dark when he was sleeping.  The estimated 6 hour drive was more like 11.  We managed to just miss an avalanche across the highway, and all the road closures to follow it.  During the trip back to Colorado, we made a stop at Breckenridge for a day on the slopes, and what should’ve been a 2-3 hour drive back from Breck took us 6.  More terrible road conditions, accidents, and most of the highway was closed.

Since it felt like we were stuck in a car for most of the week, fists clenched on the “oh shit handle”, we’re so happy to have gotten out and seen some breathtaking views, and hiked in some great conditions.  Here’s a peek into the highlights of an incredible week reunited with my favorite people.
